Westmoreland’s JDE users worked with attachments for work orders, requisitions, and many other types of data entry as part of their routine responsibilities. They were accustomed to using ActiveX controls in Internet Explorer (IE) to open, view, download, and upload files to JDE EnterpriseOne. However, a security assessment and code review raised security concerns about the continued use of IE since support and patching was no longer being provided by Microsoft. Unfortunately, users found it difficult to use attachments in JDE without ActiveX.
